CABLEWAY AND SUGAR LOAF: A GREAT COMBINATION

Opened in 1912 and surrounded by the natural beautys of Praia Vermelha (Red Beach), the cableway that gives access to Pão de Açúcar (Sugar Loaf) is one of the most visited touristic points in Rio de Janeiro. Even though it´s so famous, it´s always good to be careful in order to better your experience. So here are some tips from our team:

WHEN TO GO

One of the best parts of that place is the amazing view from the top of the Sugar Loaf, a mountain roughly 400 meters high (1,312 feet). So, the best days for visiting it is when the sky is clear and bright.

It´s a very visited place, so avoid weekends because, beyond the tourists, the cariocas will also be there, making the lines longer.

HOW TO GET THERE

It´s not easy nor cheap to park there. We recommend that you take the subway to Botafogo station and take a taxi to get there (to reduce the coasts).

If you prefer going by bus, you could take the lines 107 or 513, it has stops near the entrance. But we do not recommend doing so.

SAFETY TIP: Avoid using buses in Rio, the safety in it is not guaranteed. You should use more subway or train. It´s even better if you take a cab or an uber.C

HOW MUCH DOES IT COAST AND WHERE TO BUY TICKETS

The tickets coast R$ 110.00 (in 2018). But cariocas who can prove they live in the city, elderly people (+65) and students pay half entrance. To know more about the prices, click here !

We recommend buying the tickets online to avoid lines. RioTur, a company that takes care of tourism in our city recommends buying your tickets at “bondinho.com.br”.

I GOT THERE, WHAT NOW?

Besides the wonderful view, the best part of it, there´s restaurants, helicopter rides and even a night club that hosts concerts of national and international artists.

Sit down on the benches, drink some cold water, enjoy nature and the landscape, it´s really worth it.

If you have any questions, please, feel free to ask and we´ll answer it as soon as possible. Good DiversãoRJ!
